Fullarton Parish Church

Outreach team

The Outreach and Evangelism Team has a remit to co-ordinate the church's efforts in what is the overarching responsibility of all Christians, that is, to go out and make disciples of people.

We have moved on from the concentrated peak-time efforts of routine Parish visitations and Christmas and Easter invitation cards to include specific teams which are part of the ministry core of the Church. These include the "Church and Community" process sponsored by Tear Fund, the Christianity Explored courses in the Harbour Arts Centre, and Home Groups which explore the current preaching topics and the ministry of healing.

We have a full time Youth and Community Worker who leads a team in the Youth Cafe and Rock Solid Impact outreach initiatives and works with the teams who run Scripture Union programmes in Loudon Montgomery Primary School and Irvine Royal Academy, and also the teams which run the other church Youth Organisations and the Light Factory.

There are many folk in Fullarton church who work within the wider church which is the Body of Christ as we try to be a Church Without Walls. This ministry has always been an initiator in churches working together at open air events including Christmas Carol singing, the Good Friday walk of witness and service in Bridgegate, and by supporting others by facilitating them with multimedia, music, and sound systems and the use of our buildings. We also have a banner ministry which periodically rotates challenging messages which are visible from the external wall of the church facing the railway lines, and from Fullarton Hall which faces the Marress roundabout. We would encourage other churches to be part of the banner ministry and to share each others banners thereby enlarging the ministry, and also sharing new ideas and messages.
