Multimedia

Multimedia

At Fullarton we’re keen to embrace technology wherever possible and we feel it may aid our worship and outreach, from putting Sunday worship song words on a big screen to having a modern website.

We currently have an IT team which works on the technology side of the Sunday service: setting up the projector to display song words and playing DVD’s as part of the sermon, as well as looking to buy and setup new equipment to make things as smooth as possible.

We have a web team, responsible for the upkeep and development of our church website.

We also have a group of people interested in the process of movie making, including the technical behind-the-scenes editing etc. under the banner of Full-on-Art Productions

And we recently started a PowerPoint Meditations team who aim to create short presentations on a relevant topic set to music, words and images to help inspire our hearts and minds.

Worldwithoutwalls

Another exciting Fullarton experience has been our participation in the World Without Walls project.

The project was designed to encourage churches in Scotland to develop links and relationships with partners in other countries and consists of a sort of video exchange in which partner churches/organisations create videos for each other which are then posted on the World Without Walls website.

At Fullarton we have built on long standing connections with Luddhiana in India to establish a partnership with the 'New Life' fellowship there.

Technical hitches and time constraints have meant neither we nor our partner have exchanged quite as many videos as we would like but we hope to build on what we have established as soon as possible.

Feedback from our partners in Luddhiana has been positive, although they do sometimes find our Scottish accents difficult to follow!

SAMYP

For the last three years a team from Fullarton has participated in an annual film competition run by the St Andrew's Media Youth Project at St Andrew's Church in Bo'Ness. The competition was designed to encourage churches in Scotland to develop multimedia awareness and skills in their congregations through the development of their own short films. Churches from all over Scotland take part and the standard of entries is very high. The finished results are usually made available on disc and provide a valuable resource for particpating churches.

The team here have been fortunate enough to win 'SAMY' awards three years in a row, including 'Best Picture', 'Best Drama', 'Best Writing' and 'Best Acting'. All scriptwriting, directing, editing, acting etc. has been done by members of the congregation and/or local community and it has been exciting to help uncover some of the skills and talents God has provided - sometimes in unexpected places!
