Fullarton is a "Fair Trade" Congregation. We support fairness and justice in trade and also through Release International, which seeks to relieve the plight of Christian believers who are being shockingly treated in many countries because of their faith in Christ. For example many have been tortured or imprisoned in terrible conditions for long periods.
Then there is the Leprosy Project at Maya in Nepal. Our partners in this venture are Alasdair and Moira Murray in Inverness. A new interest we have in Nepal is the Interdenominational Himalayan Bible Training Centre at Surkhet
Bryson and May Arthur are supported wherever our Lord leads them. Bryson is President of Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary which is now 4 years old. They have 15 lecturers and tutors full and part time, 60 students and 3 degree programmes: BD in English medium Bth in Arabic and an MTh in English medium. Their library is now growing towards 6000 books. May works in the Seminary organising the Certificate in Christian Studies for our 12 Sudanese refugees and she tutors students in English usage. Their Web site is www.nazarethseminary.org
There is another Nazareth connection which interests us. The Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society has had a wonderful hospital in Nazareth for many years and I worked there for one year in 1962-63. The medical mission work of this Society has now expanded to other countries - for example Africa, India and Nepal - under the name Emmanuel Healthcare.
The World Without Walls film project links us with the New Life Congregation in Ludhiana, India, and with the Christian Medical College in the same city. Thus we have fingers in many pies and we rather enjoy all of them!
Please support us in this very important aspect of our congregation's work and witness. Please pray that the love and compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ will be seen through the work and witness of those whom we support. May His name be glorified and be more widely known in every country in the world. Also may the poorest and most down-trodden of people be the most helped.
