Community Connect

Over the past year we have been doing something new - listening! Listening to you, the members and adherents of Fullarton Church, listening to the folk living in the parish, and listening to others involved in the day-to-day life of the community - shopkeepers, doctors, health visitors, MSPs, police, MPs, social workers, local councillors, pub owners and others.

All this listening has been an important part of our "Community Connect" process - a process to help Fullarton Church to connect better with our local community.

Through this process of listening and doing related Bible study work we have been able to identify the "big issues" within our parish, the effect these issues have on the local community, and consider the challenges which are presented to us to become more of a community of Christ. These "big issues" of concerns can be expressed as "I have a fear of drugs in the parish"; "I'm bored"; and "I'm lonely".

We are now at the stage of considering which of a series of specific actions we can undertake to help ease some of the concerns that have been identified and start to take action. All is underpinned with and by prayer.
