Did you hear that they have a new name for the combined use of You Tube, Twitter and Facebook? YOU-TWIT-FACE-TUBE! sorry, no offence intended, but I thought it quite funny. One of my daughters is seriously into Justin Bieber and was all a flutter when Justin tweeted her to say he was following her, it made her week! My brother follows the Andy Murray twitter and regularly gets messages about what Andy is up to. To be honest I cannot think of anyone I would like to follow on twitter and I certainly do not want others knowing my every move. That is, apart from God, but there is no choice with God knowing my every move or not, he knows it all by simply being the all seeing, all knowing and (thankfully) all loving God.
It is a scary thought that there is someone who can, not just follow you on Twitter, but sees your every move. If it were a cctv camera or The Big Brother eye, you could find blind spots to avoid the lens, but not with God. It is a major reason many people fear approaching God, because they realise God not only has seen everything they have ever done or avoided doing, but can see right into their thoughts too, help!! In Psalm 139 King David has his fears blown away by the dawning realisation that Gods intentions are good. Indeed, Jesus comes to show us that God is not here to catch us out like a divine policeman, he comes to show us a way of forgiveness and fresh starts, a way to life in all its fullness. For, when you get on intimate talking terms with God Almighty, through Jesus Christ, you learn that he wants the very best for you!
Those who reject the loving light of God, which finds us out to save and set us free to live well, are the ones who fear the all seeing God. But it need not be so. Stephen Baldwin (Big Brother) has an unfortunate preachy manner, which turns a lot of people off the truths he tries to tell about God. But Gods Word is both sweet and bitter, depending on how you receive it. Here is what Jesus said,
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God (John 3:16-21, NIV).
So King David gets to the end of his prayer in Psalm 139 and comes to look the all-knowing, all seeing, all loving God in the eye and says, Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting; not a bad way to end and start a day with the God who is much closer to you than any face book, you tube or twitter can ever get!
