What a Wedding!
A Palm Sunday Wedding!? Yes, at our weekly 11.00 a.m. service Niall Munro & Heather Dunn were married in Fullarton Church as children sat around their feet, after the children's chat. A packed church witnessed one of our most memorable services ever. The singing was fantastic as the Holy Spirit united us with Heaven's praise of God. It was a wonderful picture & image of the glorious gathering ahead for God's People, when Christ, the Groom, will return to walk Us (God's ransomed People) down Heaven's aisle, husband & wife.

Heather looked radiant (in dress) & Niall looked thrilled (in kilt) to be there marrying his beloved, whom he had quietly loved for so long. Heather had gone to serve Christ in Central Asia where she helped set up & develop a Hospice, while Niall got on with serving God in Glasgow as a surgeon. In a lovely romantic twist, 20 years after meeting each other at Aberdeen Uni', they found themselves drawn beyond platonic friendship into marriage.

In Revelation 19 there's an image of Our perfect bride's dress, paid for by Christ's blood on the Cross, with extra cloth added to beautify us further. Every act of loving sacrifice & service is a stitch, pattern or piece of cloth, giving glory God who, from before time, prepared such works for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

Niall & Heather's wedding is a vivid picture of that day when we shall be with the Lord, totally united with Christ & all God's People of every time & place, head over heels in love. A picture to inspire & encourage us when times are tough & following Jesus is hard. Like a football team with their eyes set on winning The Cup, the glorious Wedding Day awaiting each one of Christ's followers, is a vision to hold us steady & spur us towards that day, giving our lives over in humble service & sacrifice. What a dress it will be, what a day it will be, what a wedding, what a life together with God. Thank you Niall & Heather for clarifying our calling in Christ! Let's all get ready for that glorious day!

Revelation 19:6-12 (New International Version)

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
   "Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean, Thewas given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the good works of God's People.)
